Proper completion and execution of the I-9 form is of extreme importance.

While I-9 verification is not a Notary service, it is subject to the same ethical scrutiny. Many employers hire a Notary Public to complete I-9's as an Authorized Representative on their behalf when the employer is unable to be present to execute the form.

I Verify Identity

Notary Publics are trained to check and verify government issued ID as proper identification for all our Notary Public work; doing so for I-9 verification is what we are trained for. We are trained to recognize any flaws or variance in an ID that may prove it to be fraudulent.

I Witness the Employee Signing

It is a Notary Public's job and responsibility to witness signings. I will be sure the person signing the I-9 Form is also the person I have properly identified with their State issued ID, Drivers License or Passport.
